Newly promoted Civil Defence officers decorated, urged to brace up tasks ahead
The newly promoted officers of the Zone D headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), have been charged to see their promotion as additional responsibility that would make them move the Corps to the greater height.
The Zonal Assistant Commandant General (ACG), of the Corps, Mrs Bridget M. Taylor charged while decorating three Deputy Commandants to Commandants which took place at the zonal headquarters of the Corps in Minna.
She explained that their promotion was as a result of their commitment to n
nation which informed the board of the Corps and the Commandant General of the Corps, CGC Abdullahi Mohammed Gana, urging them to brace up to justify their new ranks.
She noted that the country is currently passing through unprecedented security challenges which need a prompt action, stressing the needs for collaborative efforts with relevant security agencies towards curtailing the trend of the security challenges.
ACG Bridget Taylor who was also elevated to the rank of ACG and was decorated with her new rank at Corps headquarters in Abuja by the Commandant General of the Corps CGC Abdullahi Mohammed Gana told the newly promoted officers to always see their elevation as a call to duty and that they should continue to be loyal at all times adding that, “to whom much is given, much is expected”.
While Congratulating the newly promoted officers for their promotion, ACG Bridget Taylor admonished those yet to be promoted to continue to be prayerful, stressing that “their time would soon come for their promotion.”
In his goodwill message at the occasion, the state Commandant of NSCDC in Niger State Mr George Edem told the newly promoted officers of the Corps to see their promotion as another clarion call for them to leave above board in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He appealed to them to brace up in making the board members and the Commandant General proud of at all times.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted Officers, Adekeye Munkaila Oyedepo assured that they will leave up to their responsibilities to justify their promotion by putting in their best in the discharge of their core mandate as enshrined in the code of conduct of the NSDC.
Those promoted include Mrs Bridget Taylor from Commandant to Assistant Commandant General ACG. She was decorated at the Corps headquarters in Abuja by the CG.
Adekeye Munkaila Oyedepo was promoted from Deputy Commandant to Commandant from Kwara state command. Mr. Ajibola Niyi from Deputy Commandant to Commandant from Sokoto State Command and Mallam Kabiru Abubakar Alkamawa from Deputy Commandant to Commandant also from Sokoto State Command.
Zone D comprises of Niger, Kebbi, Kwara, Sokoto and Zamfara States.
