Sunday Worship Service (14th January, 2024): Weapons with which to overcome
By Rev. Emiko Amotsuka
Text: Jeremiah 17:5-8 KJV
[5] Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. [6] For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. [7] Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. [8] For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
This passage is the weapon with which we will overcome and subdue this year 2024.
Isaiah 60:1-2 KJV
[1] Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. [2] For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
We are about to enter extreme difficult times.
One of the biggest things you can do for yourself this year is to know how to pull down the miracles you need from the realm of the Spirit into your life.
It is wise to invest time in the things of the Spirit than in frivolities.
It doesn’t matter whether you have a flourishing and stable business today; if you put your confidence in it, you will be disappointed.
Nothing in this physical world can be trusted again.
Cursed is the man who puts his trust in man, he will not see when good cometh.
Jeremiah 17vs8
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
When everything has dried up, God is saying that the man that has learnt to trust in him even when all hope seems lost, that person will not be anxious because God will always make a way for him.
We do not have control on how the prices of things increase in the market. One thing we have control over is how we can pull the miracles from the realm of the Spirit into our situation.
Inflation (increase in the prices of things) does not ruffle God.
The reason for the difference in the results Christians produce is the amount of time individuals invest in the things of God.
Get into the word of God more than before.
Deuteronomy 28:12 KJV
[12] The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
God will give you unlimited access to his good treasure.
How much is there in God’s good treasure?
All the gold, silver, diamond, uranium, platinum, gas, animal, agricultural petroleum resources in all the nations of the world are only a tiny part of God’s good treasure.
My financial wealth is not based on my bank account.
My financial wealth is based on what I believe God for and what I can pull down from God’s good treasure. That is where my life is managed.
Your struggling and hustling cannot take you far.
Look away from them and look unto God.
Every promise that God makes in his word is a statement of something God has already completed. When God says it, it is as good as done.
Isaiah 55:11 KJV
[11] so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
When God makes a promise in the Bible, you don’t go begging him. Make declarations and receive by faith. Anyone who will believe what God has spoken in his Word and puts it in his heart and begins to declare it, the power of God will make it their experience.
The charge was delivered at GREEN PASTURES WORLD OUTREACH, No. 29, Kingsway Road, GRA, Enugu, South East Nigeria.
