Ganduje builds chapel, renovates mosque in APC National Secretariat
The chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has begun the building of a chapel, minimarts, and rehabilitation of Mosque, among others within the premises of the party National Secretariat.
The building of a chapel, for the first time in the Secretariat, is perceived to be a demonstration of religious tolerance by the APC leader.
According to Ganduje, the ongoing projects are part of his commitments to give the secretariat a facelift worthy for a ruling party.
Speaking with Journalists during an inspection tour of some of the projects on Thursday, Ganduje noted that the projects are not only geared towards the progress of the party but Nigeria as a whole.
“The ongoing renovation works in our Secretariat are for the progress of the party and the nation. Before, there was no church, nobody goes to church on the premises, but now, we have a church. The mosque is also undergoing rehabilitation work. We have shops to avoid street hawking around the building. And we have concrete drainage”.
The APC Chairman also promised a digitized media centre, well equiped with modern communication facilities with cutting edge technologies.
“The media centre in terms of its outlook and equipment. I have not seen any symbols of modern gadgets. We are not in an analogue period. But, I think what I have seen here is analogue. Our media people are not analogue. So, let us turn the media centre to a digital platform. I want you to discuss this with my Chief of Staff. I want a media centre such that from here you can talk to media houses sometimes live”.
Speaking on the party’s blueprints, the former governor of Kano State revealed that the party is poised towards having a stronger structure across the board, which according to him is one of the reasons it (APC) must be active throughout the year.
“In our tradition, usually political parties as institutions are only active during the electioneering. But in developed democracies, political parties are active because they are not only limited to election, recruitment of membership, hence APC will be active throughout the year”, he said.
