Attack on Senator, Bello jittery, writes statement on behalf of Echocho
In what appeared a cover on the attack on Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho by thugs loyal to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, a statement purportedly issued by the assaulted senator has surfaced.
The report, badly and hastily written by handlers of the Governor had it that Senator Echocho had debunked the vicious attack on him yesterday when he visited the government house on the invitation of the Governor.
Despite the official denial, credible sources reveal that Senator Echocho was indeed subjected to a vicious assault during his visit to the government house, contradicting the narrative spun by Governor Bello’s handlers.
Witnesses describe a harrowing scene where the senator faced physical harm, including attempts to stab him with a knife – thwarted only by the swift action of his personal security.
“The public is urged not to be misled by the state government’s attempts to diminish the severity of the attack. the senator was kicked, tossed, and jeered at by the thugs.
Wielding a knife, one of the assailants even tried to stab the senator but was stopped by the policeman attached to the senator. If a senator can be attacked right inside the government house, then no one is saved in Kogi state” , The source said.
According to credible source, the embattled senator is being forced to issue a denial statement that he wasn’t attacked in the government house. However, the source added that the public should not be deceived by the feeble antics of the state government to downplay the attack on the senator.
