Removal of 4 monarchs is vendetta, dictatorial ambush – Uja’Ache Group
A Social – political organisation based in Kogi State, Uja’Ache Citizens Mandate has alarmed Nigerians on the sinister move to destabilised and annihilate the refered traditional institutions in Kogi State by the outgoing Governor of the State, Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Arising from its emergency meeting in Lokoja, state capital on Tuesday with a press release on the deposition and suspension of four Monarchs in the state, the leadership of the group has called on Civil Society Organisations (CSO), Human Right Groups and lovers of sustainable democracy, to rally round the people of Kogi State to halt the unparalel criminality being institutionalised to wreck the democratic and traditional institutions of the people of Kogi State under satanical and divisive politics by outgoing Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello and his stooges.
President of the group, Alh. Idris Isah insists that, the unlawful and un ceremonial dethronement of three first class chiefs and suspension of another monarch yesterday without due process, can be better descibed as pogrom, cruel radicalism, political subjugation and dictatorial ambush, which is an invitation to anarchy in the state.
Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, who shortly after his last Executive Council Meeting in Lokoja on Monday, announced the deposition of the Ohimege Igu of Koton- Karfe, HRH Abdulrazak Isa Koto, previously the Chairman, Lokoja/Kogi LGA Traditional Council of Chiefs and immediately replaced him by Hon. Saidu Akawu Salifu as new Ohimege.
Bello also deposed HRH, Sam Ojoa the Olu Magongo of Ogorimagongo and HRH, Samuel Adayi Onimisi, the Obobanyi of Emani after he was simultaneously reverted from his earlier first class status as Obobanyi of Ihima said to be under time litigation.
To add salt to the injury, Isah added, the Ojogba – Ife and Chairman, Omala Traditional Council of Chief, HRH Boniface Musa was also handed an indefinite suspension from office without explanation, even as he also ordered the immediate replacement of those dethroned.
The group president underlined the anticipated discontent, tension and disquiet already generating from the anger precipitated in Ebira land over the imposition of Alh. Ahmed Anaje, formerly Ohi of Okengwe, instead from among the legitimate candidates from either of Eika, Ihima or Eganyi ruling houses to be coronated as new Ohinoyi of Ebira land.
The development Uja’Ache leadership warned, is an act of political vendeta informed by exessive power drunk and usual impunity by Governor Bello, the aberative culture he is implanting in his stooge in the making.
While also appointing HRH, Alh. Ibrahim Gambo Kabir as new Maigari of Lokoja and HRH, Alh. Dauda Isah as Maiyaki of Kupa, he ordered the immediate banishment of the three First-Class kings, the Ohimege Igu of Kotokarfe to Rijau LGA, Olu Magongo of Ogoro-Magongo to Salka, Magama LGA, and Obobanyi of Emani to Doko, Lavun LGA, all in Niger State.
Isah said, “the dethronment of the three kings and indefinite suspension of one paramount ruler is an unparallel aberation by a hallucinating political monster, bent on destroying Kogi and indeed, Nigerian democratic ecosystem”.
Meanwhile, the leadership of Uja’Ache Group expressed an agonising shock over the gruesome murder of a palace chief, the Akwuna Atah Igala and Gabaidu sister, HRH, Mrs Maimuna Opaluwa Sani, along with her daughter, Mallam Hajara Usman Sani and grand daughter, Onechojon through burnfire by unknown arsonists in her Oketekwe residence in Idah early hours of Thursday.
The group president, reiterated that such diabolical and sadistic murder in Gabaidu’s palace is the height of assault on Igala Kingdom, after similar murder of Mrs Salome Abu in Ochadamu in Ofu LGA during the 2015 Governorship election in the State.
Now the second of such dastardly act that occured in the palace and kingdom, Alh. Isah lamented, is a serious desecration and an affront on entire Igala, but a fallout of vissibly bad governance in the state over the years.
“It’s regrettable that the last eight years administration in the state, has weaponised our gullible youth, particularly those in Kogi East, who becomes readly avaiIable for political subjugation and vendeta by Interlopers and power that be in the state.”
Uja’Ache leadership therefore urged Igala kingsmen and indeed all citizens of Kogi State whose hands is stained with blood and ammunitions to return to God and retract their steps, as the curse of the land will definitely catch up with them in a matter of time.
