BREAKING: Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq arrives EFCC headquarters, likely to be detained
Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Mrs Sadiya Umar-Farouq, has just arrived at the head quarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Her arrival to the anti-graft agency is to offer clarifications to some financial issues in the Ministry that the Commission is investigating and she is likely to be detained.
Farouq’s Special Adviser on Media, Nneka Ikem Anibeze revealed this to CAPITAL POST on Monday.
Recall that the former minister had earlier indicated her readiness to honour the Commission’s invitation and answer questions on the alledged laundering of N 37.1 billion during her tenure.
“I remain proud to have served my country as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with every sense of responsibility and will defend my actions, stewardship and programmes during my tenure whenever I am called upon to do so,” she was quoted to have said.
