Ex-Kogi Works Commissioner, Dr Adama commiserates Ata Igala over death of sister
Kogi State former Commissioner for Works, Engr. Dr Abubakar Adama on Saturday commiserated with His Royal Majesty, Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Ogwuche Akpa II, over death of his elder sister Mallama Meimunat Opaluwa Sani who was murdered in cold blood in Idah.
In a statement which he issued and sent to CAPITAL POST in Lokoja, he described the killing of Meimunat as dastardly and wondered what would have warranted such callousness in peace time.
Dr Adama called on security agents to fish out perpetrators to face the wrath of law, noting that no one has right to take the life of another person under any guise, adding that the deceased was known for peace.
The late Meimunat who held the title of Iye Akwuma Ata- Igala was attacked and killed by a yet to be identified arsonists.
He said when criminals are not punished after committing a crime, they would take comfort in continuous perpetration, hence, Adama insisted that the task of fishing out killers of Meimunat and others must be carried out with diligence and determination and that the perpetrators can be brought to justice.
The statement read: “I think fishing out criminals behind this heinous act is sacrosanct in the interest of justice and not only in Kogi State, but the nation as a whole. I call on security agents to be up and doing to arrest arsonists involved in the killing of Meimunat.’
While condoling His Royal Majesty, Dr Adama prayed for him and the entire family to bear the irreparable loss.
