Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouk who allegedly laundered the sum of N37.1 billion in collaboration with a contractor, James Okwete did not honour the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC invitation on Wednesday.
The former Minister during the tenure of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari allegedly defrauded the Federal Government, a development, she was being probed by the anti-graft agency.
She kept the operatives of EFCC detailed to interrogate her waiting through Wednesday till 6.00pm which they have to close from office, having not seen her.
CAPITAL POST also gathered that, there was no communication from the embattled ex-Minister stating reasons for her absence, suggesting a daring move to drag EFCC for probing her.
“We just closed from work now because she didn’t show up today, and it’s 6pm already. It’s certain that she’s never going to show up today,” the source said
Her collaborator and contractor, James Okwete has been arrested and detained since last week by the EFCC operatives. He was said to have made statements that would assist the EFCC in a bid to unravel the whereabouts of the sum of N37.1 billion.
