12 persons feared dead in fresh Boko Haram attack in Borno
Twelve persons have been confirmed killed in Borno Communities in Garamarwa and Tsiha, Chibok Local Government Council by Boko Haram terrorists on Monday.
Report said, one person was also abducted in the attack.
Borno State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth while confirming the attack stated that 12 corpses have been recovered.
He called for calm, saying that the State Commissioner of Police, and other heads of security agencies have ordered a discreet investigation of the attack.
Early information indicated that the terrorists stormed the communities in large numbers with heavy weapons at about 5pm while a new year was being celebrated and opened fire on people.
The also shot sporadically to scare security agents away from their operations.
The Police Spokesman said: “The gunmen shot sporadically at the people in the two communities. So far, 12 corpses were recovered and two were injured.”
“The insurgents who were heavily armed with AK-47 rifles, came on motorcycles, in Hilux vans and opened fire on mourners returning from Gatamarwa.
“They later attacked another Tsiha community near Shikarkir and killed three people and abducted a young lady. They burnt houses after looting their foodstuffs,” he said.
