A Socio-Cultural group operating under the aegis of Ogoni Development Drive, ODD, has uncovered a plot by the of FCT minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, and the expelled former Assembly nembers to continuously raise political tension and upheaval against the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara and the good people of Rivers state.

In a statement by the Convener, Comrade Solomon Lenu, which was sent to CAPITAL POST on Monday, they called on the Inspector General of Police to wade in.

Change of Name

The group sounded a warning that the former governor of Rivers is notorious for stoking crisis and creating false atmosphere, capable of driving investors away from the State, adding that they would mobilise to streets in protest if Wike and his gangs were not called to order.

The statement read: “We want to use this medium to inform the Inspector General of Police, IGP, and Nigerian public that, should they be allowed to continue to cause tension that impedes peaceful governance, which is creating a false atmosphere of crisis, and keeping investors away from our state to the detriment of our teeming youths who are searching for employment opportunities, that ODD will massively mobilize the people of Rivers state to occupy the streets of Abuja.

“Rivers state can not be reduced to a theater of political war, while the minister thrives in Abuja.

“We therefore call on the Presidency to rein in Chief Wike, so that we can have a peaceful atmosphere for governance in Rivers State as it is, in other states in Nigeria.

“We sa NO to anti Rivers people agenda by the Minister.”
