A group under the aegis of concerned members of APC Presidential Campaign Council have protested against the appointment of Mr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe as Executive Secretary of Nigeria Content Development And Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

In a statement signed by the chairman of the group, Engineer Chris Dododo and Mrs Dolapo Abbe, Secretary respectively indicated that the appointment is not in the best interest of the NCDMB and the critical role it plays in the development of the Nigeria oil and gas industry.

Change of Name

The statement reads: “We, the concerned members of APC Presidential Campaign Council express our deep concern and disapproval of the recent appointment of Mr. Felix Omatsola on December 8, 2023 as the Executive Secretary Of Nigeria content development and monitoring Board (NCDMB).

“We believe that this appointment is not in the best interest of the NCDMB and the critical role it plays in the development of the Nigeria oil and gas industry.

The group lists reasons for the objection to the appointment of Mr. Omatsola to include lack of relevant experience and qualifications: “Mr. Omatsola background does not demonstrate the necessary experience and qualifications required to effectively lead the NCDMB.

“A critical agency like the NCDMB requires a leader with a proven track record in the oil and gas industry, particularly in the area of local content development. We believe Mr. Omatsola lacks such experience and expertise.

“In light of these concerns, we urge Mr. President to reconsider his decision and reject the appointment of Mr. Omatsola as the Executive Secretary of the NCDMB and appoint a more suitable person who possesses extensive experience in oil and gas industry.

“We strongly believe that this position requires a leader with the necessary experience, qualifications, and commitment to local content development to ensure the continued success of the NCDMB and the Nigeria oil and gas industry.”
