Ex-Senate President Lawan consoles victims, demands investigation into Kaduna village bombing
President of the Ninth Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has called for immediate investigation into Tuesday’s bombing incident at Tudun Biri village in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.
Lawan, who currently chairs the Senate Committee on Defence, says the committee will also begin an investigation to determine the actual circumstances behind the tragic incident.
The former Senate President mourns the loss of innocent lives and sends condolences condoles to the Kaduna State Government and victims of the bombing.
He urges the Federal Government, through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to provide succor to those injured and incapacitated by the tragic incident.
The statement by Lawan reads, “I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by the tragic bombing that took place in Turin Biri village in Kaduna state. My thoughts and prayers are with the the Kaduna State Government, the victims, their families, and the entire community during this difficult time.
“There are no words to adequately express the sorrow and pain caused by the tragic incident. “Accordingly, I call on the Federal Government to immediately open an investigation into the actual cause of the bombing.
“The Senate Committee on Defence will also follow through with an investigation to unravel the circumstances which led to the loss of lives from the bombing.
“I stand in solidarity with the people of Kaduna and offer my deepest condolences to those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy.
“I also express my gratitude to the first responders and medical personnel who are working tirelessly to provide care and support to those in need.
“I urge everyone to come together in support of the victims and their loved ones as they navigate through this challenging period.
“My heart goes out to the victims of this tragic incident, as we stand with them in their grief and pain. May they find strength and solace in the midst of this tragedy.”
