Breaking: Former Ogun Senator, Kashamu dies of COVID-19

Former Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Buruji Kashamu is dead.

The former lawmaker who was the Vice Chairman of Senate Committee on States and Local Government in the 8th National Assembly died of suspected coronavirus pandemic.

In a twitter post by Senator Ben-Murray Bruce, he said Kashamu died at the First Cardiology Consultants Hospital in Lagos on Saturday.

Kashamu won his Senatorial election to the Senate in 2015 on the Peoples Democratic Party platform amid controversy that he would be extradited to the United States of America to face drug charges against him.

A philantropist to the core, Kashamu contested Ogun governorship election in the 2019 general election on PDP, but lost.
