Niger Command of Nigeria Customs Service generates N60.6 million revenue in November
The Nigeria Customs Niger/Kogi Area Command generates over N60.6m from seized contraband goods this November, the comptroller Mr Busayo Kadejo disclosed in Minna on Tuesday.
Briefing some newsmen, Kadejo said N56.6m of the amount was from the sale of PMS loaded in jerry-cans being smuggled in a truck while Demand Notices, DN generated over N10m.
He said the achievement was as a result of the deployment of ”massive intelligence and the respect for our rules of engagements”. in addition to the support given by the Comptroller General by way of provision of utility vehicles to the Command.
Kadejo said during the operations carried out by the Command “no casualty” was recorded.
He warned smugglers and ”criminal elements no matter how highly placed in the society that we will not spare them.
“Our job is to implement Federal Government’s fiscal policies, we are committed to achieving that and are determined to frontally confront smugglers and all other economic saboteurs whose antics we will always discover and continue to make arrests, seizures and cripple their operations”.
Kadejo reminded Nigerians that the Federal Government’s policy on the closure of border is still in force in Babana.
