A member representing Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amos Magaji has flayed the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for not responding to alarm of imminent attacks raised by lawmakers last week.

Southern Kaduna lawmakers in the National Assembly have raised the alarm over imminent attacks on communities, but which government did nothing about it.

The lawmaker speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Friday also accused the Federal government for doing nothing, saying that if Kaduna State and the Federal government had taken action based on the alarm raised, Thursday’s attack where over 30 persons killed would have been averted.

He expressed serious concern that security agencies didn’t work on intelligence reports made available to them, wondering how bandits were attacking communities and attack the people for about six hours despite the curfew without arrest of any person.

Magaji and some members have last week raised the alarm over imminent coordinated attacks by militias and armed herdsmen on communities during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

“I am calling on the government of Nigeria to rise up. If not, we will get to a point where there will be anarchy in Nigeria and then, we will have a failed state. If there is insecurity in all parts of the country, then Nigeria is fast going down as a failed nation and until something is done, we are in trouble,” he said.

CAPITAL POST earlier reports that Kaduna State governor, El-Rufai on Channels Television described Southern Kaduna lawmakers as bunch of irresponsible leaders.

He was reacting to the alarm raised by lawmakers that “militia have planned a coordinated attack on Southern Kaduna communities which would be carried during and after Sallah.”

But earlier Thursday, Atyab community in Zango Kataf was invaded by some militia leading to the killing of 30 persons.
