FG assures adequate funding for tertiary health institutions
The Nigerian government has reiterated its determination to put more financial commitments to health institutions of learning in the country.
The Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa restated this in Enugu during his oversight tour & official commissioning of the Ultra-modern Projects at Federal College of Dental Technology & Therapy, Enugu.
In a statement by the Ministry’s Director for Information,Patricia Deworitshe on Saturday, Dr. Alausa attributed the immense well-being of any society to success in health care delivery.
He explained that the present administration specifically focuses its health drive action on four major agendas, namely; Governance in Healthcare, Unlocking Value Chain of the Healthcare Sector, Health & Social Security and Health Population.
Speaking further, Dr. Alausa commended top Management Staff and the entire Community of the Institution for mutual cooperation amongst them, which enhanced the opportunity to achieve more in terms of project execution.
He also applauded Prof. John Emaimo, Rector of the College, for the giant stride exhibited within the shortest time in office.
Earlier, the Rector of the College expressed his gratitude to the federal government for the financial support received in order to carry out major projects that will benefit the college & immediate communities.
Prof. Emaimo enumerated some challenges faced by the institution. He requested that the Minister assist in addressing some other needs which in the College.
Some of the projects, the Hon. Minister Commissioned at the College include:
* Two-in-One Lecture room
* Biomedical Research Centre.
* Centre for Entrepreneurship Development. (CED)
* Medical Centre Extension .
* Rector’s Lodge
* One Storey Classroom block.
* Lawn Tennis Court. among others.
