…declares Deacon Chris Iyovwaye as the General Commander of the Nigeria Youth

The Nigeria Youth Alternative Council (NYAC), has emphasised the need for Nigerian youths to build capacity even as they clamour for inclusivity in politics and governance.

The Council made the assertion at the 2023 National Youth Stakeholders Summit , with the theme; “The Nigeria We Want: From Aspiration to Reality” on Thursday in Abuja.

Speaking, the president of NYAC, Icon Nixon Chukwuka Odimbu stressed that young people will not achieve the expected growth and development if they refuse to adopt strategies for change.

He advised Nigerian youths to embrace innovation and ingenuity, describing it as critical to achieving excellence.

“Dear Nigerian youth, we can’t continue to do the same thing, think the same way and expect different results. We need to come out with ingenuity and innovations, we need to take back our country and build the future we envisaged. We can’t continue to complain, let us take a bold step today to liberate our generation from the political stereotypes that have kept our country in total mess.

“Time to look is over, time to act is now as our development as a country is a collective responsibility. Together in unism, we can make a meaningful difference”, he noted.

Also, the NYAC in collaboration with over 106 youth organisations declared an entrepreneur and business man, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, as the General Commander of the Nigeria Youth (GCYN).

The NYAC President described Deacon Iyovwaye as an active humanitarian who has empowered and employed over one million Nigerian youths across the country.

He said, “Deacon Chris Iyovwaye has proven to be youthful and youth oriented person, aside being youthful and passionate about the walfarism and development of the youths, he’s a servant leader and has proven as such in all ramifications”.

On his part, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, the new General Commander of the Nigeria Youth (GCNY), expressed confidence in the ability of the Nigerian youths.

“I am convinced and I believe overwhelmingly that our youths today are the leaders of tomorrow.

“Youth must continue to push. No matter how far you have gone, there is still a place to go forward”, he advised.
