Insecurity: Two Veterinary Doctors accused of illegal arms supplies get bail
Two of the gun runners earlier arraigned by the operatives of the Department of State Service ( DSS), have been granted bail by the Minna Chief Magistrate Nasir Mohammed Mua’azu.
They were granted bail in the sumof One million naira with two sureties in the like sum who must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court in Minna.
Equally, the surties must deposit their two recent passports photograph with the Registrar of the court and also the surties must paste his picture on their residential buildings to be deposited along with the passport with the Registrar of the court.
Napas Kefas and Caleb Gavers, Known as Dan Daura, both Veterinary Doctors were earlier arrested by the operatives of the secret police for supplying military camouflage uniforms and guns to a notorious armed bandits in Kamuku forest within Zamfara, Kaduna and Niger States.
The bandit kingpin, known as Dogo Giadi had engaged the Veterinary Doctors to treat his rusttled cattles located in the thick forest after which he engaged them into the supply of arms and army camonflage uniforms.
His notoriety in armed banditry has made the security agencies across the Northwest and parts of North Central States to spread their dragnets on him.
However, the Director of public Prosecution (DPP), In the state Ministry of Justice, Mr Moses Chiroma did not object to their bail on the ground that the offences in which they were charged for is ordinarily bailable at the discretion of the court.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate Nasir Mohammed Mua’azu then granted them the bail.
