Imo angry youths attacked Uzodinma with bottles
Imo youths on Sunday afternoon angrily attacked Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The governor was at Ohaji area to attend a function, but upon the governor’s arrival at the area, youths of Mmahu community repeatedly shouted “Onye Oshi Vote, Onye Oshi Vote” (meaning “stolen votes” in Igbo language).
They started throwing bottles and sticks at the convoy amid security details of the governor.
His bulletproof vehicle was badly damaged.
The situation forced him to turn back after his security details stopped him from alighting from his vehicle due to the tensed atmosphere.
Meanwhile, former Imo governor, Emeka Ihedioha of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has spoken on the Supreme Court reaffirmation of Uzodinma as the duly elected governor.
The apex court, last Tuesday, dismissed Ihedioha’s application which urged it to review its earlier judgment in favour Uzodinma.
Ihedioha, in his reaction, quoted the words of the late journalist, Dele Giwa, that “No evil deed will go unpunished”.
