The Caretaker Committee of Igala Cultural Development Association ICDA has commended the Director-General of the Civil Liberties Organization CLO, Comrade Steve Aluko for his pledge to drag Kogi State Governor, Alhaji yahaya Bello to the international criminal court, I C C over the Continuous political violence in Kogi East Senatorial district which has led to loss of lives and property.

The President Caretaker Committee, ICDA Pastor Immanuel Ameadaji made the remark in a statement said the pledge by the Director-General was the right move in the right direction, adding that the masterminds and the perpetrators of heinous crimes are walking
free in the society because government was not doing the needful.

He said that the Chairmen of Local Government Councils in Kogi East, particularly Dekina and Ofu are freely using thugs to cause insecurity ahead of the election.

He lamented that ICDA had issued several releases in the past and made appeals to government to halt the violence which had yielded no positive response adding that Kogi East Senatorial district which used to be the home of peace had suddenly lost grip due to political interest in the forthcoming Governorship Election.

Pastor Ameadaji said Igala-Bassa people welcome any idea that would bring peace and ensure that the forth coming governorship election was held without any crises.

In another development, ICDA has urged candidates of political parties in Kogi East to close ranks and speak with one voice and support one candidate to exemplify unity.

The ICDA asked Igala-Bassa people not to be deceived into believing that their candidate does not represent the State agenda and advised that the forthcoming election will be a test of their unity and strength.
