APC thugs attack SDP campaign office in Kogi, steals equipment

Suspected All Progressives Congress, APC thugs on Tuesday morning attacked the campaign office of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Ugwolawo Ofu Local Government Council.

This is the latest attack of its series in Ofu, Idah, Anyigba and other places in Kogi East Senatorial District.

Last Saturday, a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, and the zonal Chairman, Pastor Sunday Atabo was attacked at his country home in Aja-Odi Agojoeju near Ejule by suspected thugs, and his house and vehicle were destroyed.

A witness, who shared the pictures of the damaged campaign office as a result of the attack in his Facebook page, thanked God for sparing his life and family during the unprovoked attack.

He wrote: “MuriSam Campaign office Ofu Local Govt was attacked and glass windows destroyed by unknown gunmen suspected to be APC thugs.

“Glory be to God for the life of my family and I, as APC thugs shots sporadically in my house and destroyed all the glass windows.”
Last week Saturday, suspected thugs attacked SDP event at Ejule in Oful LGA and Ajaka in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Council leading to damage of properties and other valuables worth millions of naira.

In all these attacks there were no statement from Kogi State Police Command, even as efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, William Ovye Aya has not been successful.

However, the campaign council of SDP called on President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to urgently intervene and address the drift in Kogi State before it impairs democracy in the state.
