ICDA: Igala socio-cultural body reconstitutes board amid leadership crisis
Amid the controversy rocking the leadership of Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA), a board has been reconstituted by the Amodu Abubakar Sadiq led National Executive Council (NEC).
In a statement sent to CAPITAL POST on Sunday, which he personally signed, the National President, said an Annual General Meeting (AGM) held successfully on Saturday, 1st August, 2020, at the Igala Unity House, Anyigba, where critical decisions were taken with the reconstitution of the board.
According to the statement, the reconstitution of the Board of the Igala socio-cultural apex body would rejig activities in the interest of Igala people, particularly now that each Local Government Area has a representive on the board.
The statement noted: “Annual General Meeting of ICDA held at Igala Unity House, Anyigba on 1st August, 2020 has reconstituted the board in a unanimous resolutions.
“The reconstitution had become necessary in order to strengthened the board of this famous sociocultural body of the Igala Nation.
“With this development, all local government in Kogi East now have representatives in the board.
The statement insisted that no decision could be taken outside the AGM which he maintained is the supreme organ of the ICDA.
“It’s important to note that AGM is the supreme organ of ICDA where critical decisions concerning on the Association can be taken, any decision taken outside at this constitutional provision is null and void”, the statement concluded.
