Bayelsa guber: Gov Diri’s maternal community pledges support for his re-election
Ayamasa town, the maternal home town of the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, in Ekeremor Local Government Area, has pledged to support him (the Governor) in his re- election ambition for the November 11, 2023 governorship election in the state.
This happened at the weekend when the Peoples Democratic Party’s campaign council visited the community.
The chiefs and people of the community, in a jubilant mood, rolled out the drums to receive their son and members of the governor’s re-election team to round off his campaigns in the area.
Speaker after speaker, including Izon music maestro, King Pereama Freetown and the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Development, Thompson Amule, commended the PDP for providing the opportunity for Diri to emerge as governor.
Similarly, the acting Chief of Staff, Government House, Yenagoa, Peter Akpe, and the Director, Special Duties and Government House Transport, Lucky Youbogha, thanked the people of the state for supporting their son to succeed in his first term in office.
They expressed confidence that Diri would be re-elected in the forthcoming election following the impressive performance and the overwhelming support it enjoys across the state.
The community assured the PDP, its governorship candidate, and running mate, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, that they would give them their total support in appreciation of what it had benefited from the Diri-led government in the last three years.
