Kogi Governorship race not invitation for war, group sends message to Bello, Ododo
Uja’Ache Citizen’s Mandate Group for good governace has condemned and described the All Progressive Congress (APC) government’s persistence attack on supporters of opposition candidates in Kogi State as disastrous for democracy in Nigeria.
The Leadership of the group, Alh. Isah Ahmed Idris made the condemnation at the end of a Critical Stakeholders Meeting at Anyigba, Kogi State.
The communique as contained in the Press Release in Anyigba called on the Federal Government to profer a long term measure to protect democracy in Nigeria and particularly in Kogi State, where Governor Yahaya Bello has declared war on opposition parties in preparation for Nov. 11, 2023 Governorship election.
It expressed worry over a failed All Progressives Party (APC) administration in Kogi State, now turning the state into a theatre of war, particularly in Kogi East, where supporters of Social Democratic Party (SDP) are being harked, maimed and killed in every nook and crannies.
The Citizen’s Mandate Group specifically advised the greedy and misguarded youth in Igala/Bassa youth that have submitted their, conscience, fate and future to be used as thuggs by a failed APC administration for purpose of killing and destroying the properties of their kinsmen in Kogi East, just to sustain their slave status in the hands of gangsters, to desists or pay dearly for it.
It questioned the intergrity and wisdom of Governor Yahaya Bello, for persistently attacking supporters of SDP and its candidate, Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka (Muri), first at Jamata- Lokoja, Ejule, Ajiolo and recently, in Kotonkarfi on September 3rd, 2023.
Uja’Ache advised every Kogi Community, especially, in Igala/Bassa land not to be deterred by the threats from notorious thugs being brandished by the APC administration, to attack supporters of SDP and its candidate, Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka (Muri), but to constitutes security blocks to counter the offensive.
It cautioned the legitimate sons and daughters of Igala/Bassa who are being deceived by notorious government to engage in killing spree and destroying the properties of their kinsmen to immediately desists or pay dearly for it.
Citizens’ Mandate also urged every electorate to immediately reach out to the INEC offices in their respective Wards, LGAs and in the state capital to collect their abandoned Personal Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to vote for Muri, the only way to change the narratives in our state.
While acknowledging the firm determination of the good people of Kogi State to salvage themselves from the sharckles of poverty, torture and enslavement by despotic government, Uja’Ache urged the electorates to vote massively for Muri’s SDP led administration to redeem their integrity and lost glory of Kogi state.
It however warned the citizens not to play into the danger of third term government of Governor Yahaya Bello, using FG palliative rice, branded in Ahmed Ododo’s name, to collect Voters’ PVCs in exchange for the dubious rice.
Uja’Ache charged the people of Kogi state to ask questions on what happens to the dead Kogi State Transport Service (Kogi Travelers), Radio Kogi Buster stations in (Otite, Egbe, Ochaja), Kogi Hotels, Graphic Newspapers, Ibro Big Water Project in Lokoja and several collapsed Schools, Hospitals and Road infrastructures across the state.
The Citizens’ Mandate therefore tasked the electorates to boldly take their destiny into their own hands, by voting in Murtala Yakubu Ajaka to erase their sad memory of sordid and catastrophic reminder of our present state.
