Anyigba Killings: Fresh facts emerge as identity of captured APC thugs with dangerous weapons are from Okene in Kogi Central
Following a heavy gunshot that rented the air on Saturday at Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Council, by the suspected thugs of the ruling All Progressives Congress, identities of two of the five captured thugs have been revealed.
CAPITAL POST on Saturday reported the gun battle between APC thugs that killed two of their colleagues over money offered by the governor, Yahaya Bello who paid a scheduled visit to Ankpa to present a staff of office to the Ejeh of Ankpa. The sharing formula of the money generated disagreement that led to exchange of gunshots that made the residents of Anyigba to scamper for safety.
CAPITAL POST gathered that the gunshots were between APC thugs of Anyigba indigenes and those that came from Okene in the Central Senatorial District, who were led by an indigenous thug and a youth leader.
The exchange of gun took place in front of First Bank, opposite the famous Grimard Hospital Anyigba which attracted attention of troops who were on patrol.
Having being disarmed by the Joint Task Force, and two of the thugs that were arrested discovered to be Ebira speaking tribe with their names revealed as Faruk Onimisi and Prince Omeiza.
Also, our correspondent who was following the development reports that effort by Dekina Local Government Chairman, Prince Ishaq Okolo to release them did not yield result as at Sunday 8th October, 2023 as the Joint Task Force insisted on prosecuting them.
A source close to the operatives confided in our correspondent that the captured thugs have been paraded and their identities revealed so that they cannot be released as their operations are being monitored from Abuja.
The presence of thugs from the Central Senatorial District at Anyigba on Saturday, confirmed CAPITAL POST’s investigative report a fortnight ago that plans are afoot to disrupt Dekina and Ankpa votes considered the highest in the entire Kogi State.
