Gov Bello should stop scamming Kogites, if he thinks he has the financial capacity to upgrade traditional stools, he should first pay already graded chiefs and engage the remaining STETCOM recruited Teachers first.

The Special Assistant to the Gubernatorial Candidate of Social Democratic Party, Prince Opaluwa Omera has asked Kogites to ignore Gov. Bello’s 11th hour charade stressing that it is aimed at deceiving people to vote for his brother Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Change of Name

While addressing Newsmen in Abuja today 27/09/2023, Omera said Gov Bello who could not pay the current graded chiefs we already have or employ over 1500 successful STETCOM interviewed candidates is currently upgrading the stool of over 300 traditional rulers in the State without due process just to canvas votes for his brother Ododo.

Omera urged Kogites to resist Gov Bello and his antics of 11th hour charity adding that, if he claims to be good enough he should pay traditional rulers from 3rd Class to 1st Class who have their children dropped out of school because of ilegal deductions and percentage salaries or better still he should engage the remaining shortlisted STETCOM candidates and pay the over 7 years outstanding arrears of percentage salaries to the State Local Government staff.

Recall that Kogi State Government through the Commissioner for Education published in the Vanguard Newspaper of September 14th, 2022 that Kogi State Government was set to recruit 3,950 Teachers.

The Commissioner for Education, Mr. Wemi Jones in his word said “the state government is poised at bringing in the best hands for its teaching vacancies. We shortlisted 6,000 applicants from the over 19,000 applicants that filled the on-line registration portal. Already, we have secured the permission of the state government to recruit 3950 teachers; which are the positions we have identified as critical needs for the secondary schools.

Those who performed credible from this stage will be shortlisted again for physical verification, oral test and induction before they will be fully employed.”

On the 11th of February, 2023 as published on the website of the Kogi State Government, the Education Commissioner promised to release the list of the second batch of the successful candidate soon.

According to the Kogi State Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones in a press briefing said,

“The Kogi State Government has released the names of over 1,000 successful candidates in the first phase of Teachers Recruitment Exercise and the remaining successful candidates will have their names released soon”

Omera added that Gov Bello was not only toying with the destiny of Kogi job seekers but increasing their sorrow of joblessness.

He later warned that Gov Bello should stop giving Kogites false hopes but rather be preparing to hand over to the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, His Excellency Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka instead of incurring more debt and problems for the next government.
