The Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA)’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was scheduled for 1st August, 2020, has not been postponed, the National President of ICDA, Amodu Abubakar Sadiq in an interview with CAPITAL POST has said.
Reacting to reports that the AGM has been postponed on an online platform, Sadiq said the report was false and a handiwork of a mischief maker who is hellbent on eroding the progress of Igala nation.
He explained that arrangements have been concluded for the AGM to hold at Igala Unity House, Anyigba in Kogi East Senatorial District.
Sadiq urged all stakeholders who are expected from the 36 States of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory to attend the meeting which he insisted is of paramount importance to the wellbeing of Igala nation.
According to him, the Acting Chairman of Board of Trustees (BOT) lack powers to postpone a meeting that has been scheduled in line with the Constitution of the socio-cultural Association.
“The acting Chairman of ICDA BOT lack constitutional backing to postpone a scheduled programme. The AGM is therefore holding as scheduled.
