Sallah: Civil Defence deploys 1,950 in Niger
Determined to ensure hitch free Eid-kabir celebration in Niger State, the State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)o, will deploy a total of 1,950 personnel to secure praying grounds across the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relation of the NSCDC In the state Abdullahi Kuta Asci and made available to CAPITAL POST in Minna, disclosed that the State Commandant of the Corps, Mr George U. Edem has directed the deployment of the personnel to ensure peaceful conduct of the festival before,during and after the celebration.
According to the statement, the Commandant had in addressing men and officers of the command, admonished them to be civil in the discharge of their duty and urged them to apply professionalism in their conducts at all times.
He warned that the command will not hesitate to deal with any person or group that forment trouble during and after the Sallah, insisting that the full wrath of the command will be visited on troublemakers no matter the status in the State.
He appealed to religious and political leaders in the state to caution their followers and supporters to guide against any act that will distrupt the celebration stressing the needs for them to adhere strickly to the COVID-19 protocol in the state by using face mask and washing of hands with soap and water or sanitizer and avoid handshaking as well as observe social distancing.
While congratulating the muslim faithful for the celebration of the festival, the state Commandant of the Corps requested them to use the occasion to pray for the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of the country.
