Uzodimma, LP governorship candidate condemn killing of security agents in Imo

The governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has condemned the killing of soldiers and policemen in an ambush by a yet-be-identified gunmen, vowing that those behind the dastardly act would not go scot-free.

Reacting to the heinous act on Tuesday in a statement issued by his Spokesman, Oguwike Nwachukwu which was obtained by CAPITAL POST on Wednesday, the governor described the killing as reprehensible that his administration would spare nothing to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Change of Name

In the similar vein, the Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate in the November 11 election in the State, Athan Achonu condemned the killing of security agents in a gruesome manner at the time, their services were needed most because of the forthcoming elections.

In a statement he issued and made available to journalists, Achonu described the killing as reprehensible and called on the authority to go after the criminals and bring them to justice.

Uzodimma’s statement assured the public of his administration’s readiness to bring the perpetrators to justice, saying: “Those behind the Tuesday killing of security operatives at Ehime Mbano area of Imo State will be fished out and made to face the law.”

“Some members of the Joint Security Task Force whose actual number and identities are yet to be established were killed in an ambush by unknown gunmen while on duty at the Umuezeala Owerre area of Ehime Mbano.

“When Governor Uzodimma visited the scene of the ugly incident accompanied by the Imo State Commissioner of Police and the Director, Department of State Services, he expressed sadness over the lives lost.
