Cross River governor plans N5 billion renovation of office
Cross River State, Bassey Otu said, he has planned renovation of governor’s office befitting of his status to the tune of N5 billion.
He stated this at an interactive session with journalists, noting that governor’s office should be a signpost of the State.
The renovation, he said, would cover all Cross River State liaison offices in Lagos, Abuja and other places to show differences from other states.
According to him, the office he met was highly unbefitting of a governor’s office, hence, there was need to renovate with modern furniture, believing that it would add value as well as it would appeal to investors willing to do business with the state.
Otu explained that the renovation of the office and the State liaison offices would be handled transparently.
He said, “I will not stop to spend money to make the governor’s office very befitting. It ought to be the signpost of the state. I will do the same in all our liaison offices.
“It’s when you make your abode or office befitting that will add value and appeal to investors. Filthy environments and poor architectural outlooks can discourage.
“The renovations will be done with transparency. It is estimated that the costs of the renovations will be between N3 to N5 billion. But for now the contractors are working pro bono.”
