UAE lifts visa ban on Nigerians
Visa ban on Nigerians travelling to the United Arab Emirates, UAE, has been lifted, according to a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
He said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu facilitated the discussion in a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday in Abu Dhabi.
The development would see to the restoration of immediate flight activity between the two countries without any penalty against the Nigerian government.
“In recognition of President Tinubu’s economic development diplomacy drive and proposals, today presented by President Tinubu to his counterpart.
The statement said that the two parties have agreed on a framework that will involve several billions of U.S. dollars’ worth of new investments into the Nigerian economy across multiple sectors, including defense, agriculture, and others, by the investment arms of the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
The statement equally announced that President Tinubu has negotiated a joint, new foreign exchange liquidity program, the details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.
The statement further restated President Tinubu’s commitment to normalize and reset to excellence, the standard of relations between the two important countries.
