SDP thugs spray bullets on APC thugs in reprisal attack in Kogi [Photos]

Tension gripped the residents of Egume in Dekina Local Government Council in Kogi East Senatorial District in the early hours of Wednesday as suspected thugs loyal to the Social Democratic Party, SDP reportedly attacked thugs of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The attack, CAPITAL POST learnt was a reprisal of the earlier attack by the suspected thugs of the APC who are controlled by the Chairman of Dekina Local Government Council, Hon. Ishaq Okolo.

However, the victims escaped by the whiskers, but with gunshot injuries.

The spate of rival thuggery attack has been incessant in Dekina communities lately, especially in Anyigba, Egume, Odu leading to killings and destruction of lives and property.

In the Wednesday’s attack, the supporters of the APC who came under gunfire by the supporters of SDP are identified as Leonard, Koleo and others.

Reports said, the attackers struck in the early hours of morning around 4 a.m. in Egume.

Those who were injured are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Meanwhile, a thug loyal to the Social Democratic Party was quoted to have boasted their readiness to face the rival APC thugs which he claimed are being weaponised by the LG boss.

A call and text message to Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya for further inquiries were not responded before filing this report.
