BREAKING: Fatal road accident claims 6 lives in Ondo

Six persons have reportedly died, while one sustained injuries in a fatal road accident in Akure, Ondo State capital on Tuesday.
The ill-fated vehicle, gray Toyota Sienna marked FFN 310 PU collided with one red Man Diesel Truct along Akure-Owo Road in the afternoon.

The accident occurred at about 1:39pm at about 3km away from Akure Airport.

Ondo State Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Ezekiel SonAllah confirmed in a statement he made available to journalists in Akure, which he explained that, the deceased include six male adults while one female adult was injured out of the seven persons involved in the incident.

The Commander said, the accident was as a result of overspeeding and violation and wrongful overtaking wrongful overtaking (WOV), and loss of control (LOC).

Phones and money of victims were part of items recovered from the scene of the accident, stating that the items have been handed to the police operatives from Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Council.

SonAllah noted that remains of the six deceased have been deposited at the General Hospital morgue in Akure, while obstruction had been cleared from the road for free flow of traffic.

The FRSC Commander charged motorists to obey safety rules at all times to avoid a repeat of this fatal accident.
