Alleged anti-party, fraud: Kwankwaso expelled from NNPP
The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has been expelled from party by the National Executive Committee of the of the party.

Kwankwaso, the party Presidential Candidate of in the 2023 presidential election was earlier suspended by the party’s leadership at the National Convention on Aug. 29 in Lagos, till further development, but snubbed its disciplinary organ, thus leading to expulsion, according to a statement made available on Tuesday.
The party accused Kwankwaso of mismanagement of campaign funds, anti-party activities, hence, he was detailed through the disciplinary Committee to defend allegations levelled against him, particularly that he was said to have frittered campaign and party funds within five days in a suspicious manner.
The NEC had earlier informed him that his failure to make himself available to defend the allegations levelled against him would lead to expulsion in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution, 2022.
In a statement which was signed by the party’s acting National Publicity Secretary, Abdulsalam Abdulrasaq on Tuesday in Lagos, he said, the NEC has approved the expulsion of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from the party with immediate effect for his refusal to honour the committee’s invitations.
Abdulrasaq said: “The NEC met in an emergency session on Friday, Sept 1 and resolved as follows:
“Following the refusal of Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to appear before the disciplinary committee which sat on Thursday, Aug. 31 after being duly invited in writing, he is hereby expelled from NNPP with immediate effect.
“That the erstwhile presidential candidate, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will be reported to appropriate quarters to answer questions on financial impropriety relating to mismanagement of public funds.”
The crisis within the NNPP started when the NWC of the party loyal to Kwankwaso, announced the suspension of the NNPP founder, Dr Boniface Aniebonam and the National Publicity Secretary, Dr Agbo Major on Aug. 24.
