Politicians mobilizing, hoodlums, student leaders, to distabilise nation – DSS
The Department of State Services, DSS has disclosed that some politicians are mobilizing student leaders, ethnic groups and hoodlums to violently protest against the Federal government citing economic matters.
The Secret Police in a statement on Monday by its Spokesperson, Peter Afunanya which was obtained by CAPITAL POST, said the protest was targeted at discrediting the Federal government and Security agencies.
Those being mobilized by the elements are student leaders, ethnic associations, hoodlums and disgruntled elements.
The statement however, said, those behind the plot are being monitored, promising that the Service would act accordingly.
He said the plot was discovered through intelligence reports which the elements are already identified.
“Intelligence reports have indicated that the plotters include certain politicians who are desperately mobilising unsuspecting student leaders, ethnic-based associations, youth, and disgruntled groups for the planned action.
:“The Department of State Services hereby informs the public that it has uncovered plans by some elements in parts of the country to stage violent protests in order to discredit the Federal Government and security agencies over sundry socio-economic matters.
“Meanwhile, the Service has identified the ring leaders of the plot as well as sustained monitoring around them in order to deter them from plunging the country into anarchy. ”
