Fuel Subsidy Removal: NLC declares 2-day warning strike
As situation continue to bite harder on Nigerians as a result of fuel subsidy removal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the umbrella body of workers in Nigeria, has issued a two-day warning strike.
The body, which is the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, on Friday gave Tuesday, September 5 and 6 as the two-day warning strike and has asked all workers to stay away from their offices.
President of the union, Comrade Jude Ajaero said the purpose of the proposed protest was against the Federal Government’s failure to address challenges occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Ajaero said, the proposed protest was part of resolutions reached by the NLC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting the previous day.
The labour union is accusing the Federal Government of abandoning the negotiations and failing to implement some of the resolutions from previous meetings with the government.
