Kwankwaso secretly lobbied for FCT Minister, ‘Tinubu smartly snubbed him’ – Ganduje
The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje has revealed how Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso secretly lobbied for the Federal Capital Territory Ministerial slot.
The APC Chairman and the immediate past governor of Kano State mocked Kwankwaso, while speaking in Hausa in a 28 second video that has gone viral, explaining that Kwankwaso aided demolition in Kano by the NNPP-led administration to justify his commitment to sanitizing Kano.
Ganduje subjected Senator Kwankwaso to mockery on Monday, when his loyalists paid him a courtesy call in Abuja, saying that Kwankwaso failed to secure the slot.
He told his visitors that Kwankwaso was desperate to become the FCT Minister, but President Bola Ahmed Tinubu saw his desperation and smartly snubbed him.
According to him, there was a random demolition of buildings in Kano which was approved by Kwankwaso’s political godson and governor of Kano State as the only was they could express their frustration.
They were demolishing houses in the guise of sanitizing Kano’s master plan.
“Is it not the FCT minister position that he wanted? That was why he demolished buildings in Kano under the guise that he wanted to defend the master plan. If you ask him what the master plan is, he can’t tell you.“All you will hear is, ‘We will reset the Kano master plan. “We have promised Kano people that we will demolish houses even if they are 1,000-storey buildings.’ Look, if an illiterate person does not know he is one, he is certainly blind. That is what befell him,” Ganduje mocked.
The video clip, which has since found its way to social media, has started generating debate among supporters of both candidates.
Meanwhile, CAPITAL POST on Tuesday reported how the NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 general election was suspended from party by the Board of Trustees, BoT, alleging anti-party activities.
At the time of filing this report, Kwankwaso was yet to issue a statement over his suspension from the party.
