BREAKING: NNPP suspends Kwankwaso over alleged anti-party
The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in the 2023 general election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was reportedly suspended from party on Tuesday over anti-party activities.
NNPP’s highest organ, Board of Trustees handed down the suspension over Kwankwaso’s anti-party activities which they said was injurious to the party.
The presidential candidate has been frequenting meetings with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu both in Nigeria and abroad.
He was alleged to have had an alliance meeting with Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of 2027 without the consent of the NNPP organ.
The Board of Trustees is the highest organ of the party that advises the National Working Committee on steps to be taken in line with the party constitution.
CAPITAL POST could not confirm, if Kwankwaso has been warned before being slammed with a six month suspension from the party.
The suspension of the Kano based politician would be a major obstacle to the party that newly took over Kano, particularly that there have been accusations and counter accusations of anti-party against some topnotch members in recent times.
