An Abuja based Political Pressure Group, Uja’Ache Rights Organisation (Citizens Mandate) has condenmed the ongoing Federal Government policy of distribution of the sum of Five billion naira N5billion subsidy palliative to states, especially Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa States.

The executive Director of the Citizen’s Mandate, a political pressure group, Comrade Isah Idris made the condemnation in a press statement to the newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.

The leadership of the group which has being in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration promise to trigger a deliberate sociopolitical reform that could reverse the pathetic and hopeless situation Nigerians have been compelled and constrained to live in the last eight years of maladministration of the All Progressive Congress Party in Kogi State and indeed Nigeria, is taken aback with a trickish application of Subsidy palliative that is glaringly deceptive.

Comrade Idris, an economist noted that, the pithole that engulped subsequent leadership of this country that deliberately allocates the nation’s resources and funds meant for the poor citizens to their governors without accountability, has led to nothing but excessive enrichment of state governors, magnified corruption, and widespread scandals in our governance, which is regrettably enveloping the new administration of President Bola Tinubu.

He insisted that the new administration of Tinubu is in a vantage position to make a difference in the life of Nigerians, if it embrace the People Center Policy (PCP) of timely investing these palliative funds into reviving ailing sectoral economy through, Public Luxurious Bus Transport System for States; Massive Gas supply reservoir; Drugs revolving loan to Primary Health Centers (PHCs), Re-waking Cotton, Cocoa, Palm produce, Cassava, Rice, Yam and Beans production among others through ‘direct’ cooperative farmers loan similar to GES under President Jonathan era.

Idris said, “If Bola Tinubu’s administrative vision is skewed towards revamping these sectoral economy and truly grants operational licence to Oil Sector Operators with resources to set up Private Refineries to compete favourably with the epileptic Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), while reviving the Steel sector, this administration would set a record of making Nigeria, a truly ‘giant of Africa’ we often sing on our tongue”.

“In the last eight years, the people of Kogi State have being under seize, sapped and pauperised by an APC administration that place leadership pleasure above the welfare of the citizenry and the infrastructural needs of the poor people”.

“Worst case sinario in Kogi State, in nearly last eight years of the present administration, is complete dearth of infrastructures, with dilapidated road networks, Public Health Centres, pubic Schools and agonising state of farmers who never dreamt of accessing fertilizers and other farm inputs that are fairly obtainable in other states of Nigeria”.

“High-tech Political propaganda is officially domicile in Kogi State, the scheme the leadership of the state has effectively explored to tame the people of the three senatorial districts of the state, who are now aggressively yienning for a true change outside the APC, but in the direction of the quality and trustworthy candidacy of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), a minority party and new revolution in the state”.

“An attempt to disburse the N5bn palliative to the three states of kogi, Imo and Bayelsa governments at this critical two months feverished pre-election period is not only tantamount to promoting thuggry sponsorship for unparallel electoral rigging out of other political parties, but will dangerously discredit the new Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a regrettable drive to premature failure”.

While lamenting the sorry situation of the country, the leadership of the Uja’Ache Citizen’s Mandate therefore appeals to the Administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to halt the disbursement of the palliative particularly to Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa states, and hands it over to whoever that successfully emerge as governor of those states after the November 11th Governorship election, as anything short of that, amounts to a deliberate Coup and sabortage against the will of the people of those states.
