Ministerial appointment: Ondo Reps member, Tunji-Ojo quits for new assignment
Member representing Akoko North-East/North West Federal Constituency of Ondo State, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as resigned as a member of the House of Representatives, in readiness to be sworn in as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Olubunmi who is a second timer in the lower legislative Chamber of the National Assembly was nominated and screened alongside other ministerial nominees by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Having been successfully screened by the Senate, CAPITAL POST sighted his letter of resignation hours to his swearing-in today.
The letter, however, showed that the original copy was submitted to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas on Friday indicating receipt and stamp.
The lawmaker explained in the letter that he was resigning due to his appointment as a Minister.
“Our dear country is in dire need of collaborative and concerted efforts that would engender the much-needed advancement to greater heights and I have been appointed to contribute my quota to achieve that enviable objective as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, President Tinubu on Sunday assigned Hon. Tunji-Ojo as Minister in charge of Interior.
