APC NWC moves to reposition party
The All Progressives Congress (APC) stated that it has commenced moves to reposition the party to align with the ideas of President Bola Tinubu.
APC said this on Tuesday while briefing journalists after its National Working Committee (NWC) meeting at the party headquarters in Abuja.
This NWC meeting which is the 128th, is the first after the just concluded National Executive Council (NEC) and National Caucus meeting held in Abuja last week.
The newly appointed National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje presided over the meeting with the new National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru in attendance.
Speaking on what was discussed during the meeting, Ajibola Basiru said the party has resolved to strengthen its presence across all the political wards and local governments in the country.
He said the youth and women wing, including Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) across all the 36 states of the federation will be strengthened across all political wards.
On the off-season governorship elections Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi later, the party said it is composing a campaign council to assist the three states emerge victorious.
“We also discussed how to strengthen the three major wings of the party – the youth, women and persons with disability. We are working to win all elections henceforth”, he said.
On the issue of external auditors appointed to probe finances of the party, Basiru said “it is standard procedure and has been the routine in the party. If you go back, there has been no year that the external auditors were not appointed to audit the accounts of the party”.
The National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru was joined by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka; Youth Leader, Dayo Israel and Deputy Woman Leader, Zainab Ibrahim.
