Unity Schools: FG increases fees by Over 100%

Breakdown of the approved fees/charges for Unity Schools

The Federal Government has apporoved over 100 percent fee increment for new students going to Federal Unity Schools also known as Federal Government Colleges.

A circular bearing the breakdown of the fee was issued to all principals of Federal Unity Colleges from the Office of the Director of Senior Secondary Education Department of the Federal Ministry of Education, reference number ADF/120/DSSE/I, dated 25th May 2023.

Change of Name

“Please be informed that the ministry has approved only the under listed fees and charges for all Unity Colleges,” the memo read.

According to the circular, titled, “Approved fees/charges for Federal Unity Colleges (1st Term) for new students,” signed by the Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajiya Binta Abdulkadir, new students are expected to pay N100,000 instead of the previous N45,000.

CAPITAL POST reports that though tuition fee is free, the latest fees/charge increment will affect all other aspects and activities of the school, including boarding fees, uniforms, textbooks, deposits, exercise books, prospectus, caution fees, identity cards, stationery, clubs and societies, sports, extra lesson and insurance, among others.
