Ministerial Appointment: APC women leader, Betta Edu reportedly doling out 100 dollar notes
In apparent push for her interest in ministerial appointment, the All Progressives Congress, APC National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu was spotted dishing out bunch of 100 dollar notes to some colleagues which she said should be used for ‘lunch’.
In a video seen online, one of the recipients ‘Vicky’ thanked the woman Leader for lunch money which numbered 500 dollars.
The money was apparently shared to others which averaged about N400K per person causing reactions about the economic hardship being faced by Nigerians.
It is believed that Betta Edu is one of those lobbying for the position of minister of women affairs and many wonder if the wanton display of unexplained wealth would affect her chances.
Also, the Women leader has come under heavy criticism for visiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday by some zonal women leaders.
Their criticism was contained in a petition to President Tinubu where they passed a ‘vote of no confidence’ on her leadership, insisting that she was out for her selfish reasons.
In a counter move to the petition filed against her, some group of women leaders particularly from the 36 States of Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, passed a ‘vote of confidence’ on the women leader, applauding her virtues which they described as exceptional.
Meanwhile, the development continues to generate reactions on Twitter handle and social media platforms of some prominent Nigerians and commentators.
