We meant to kill Apostle Suleman during attack – Suspect
A 32-year old suspect, Yusuf Isah who was arrested in connected with attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman in October, 2022 has confessed to have carried out attempted murder on the Pastor alongside others.
Apostle Suleman is the founder of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide.
The suspect was paraded on Thursday, in Abuja with no fewer than 20 other criminals who were arrested for offences including conspiracy, attempted murder, murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and possession of illicit drugs among others.
Speaking with journalists while being paraded the suspected admitted, the attack was to eliminate Apostle Suleman.
The attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman along the Benin-Auchi Road in Edo State led to the killing of six persons, including three policemen attached to him.
Meanwhile the Police Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that operatives of the Intelligence Rapid Team arrested Isah following an intensive investigation.
He told journalists that he and his gang members trailed the pastor to the point where he was attacked with five AK 47 riffles.
He said, “The attack on him (Suleman) was to assassinate him. I was not part of the discussion; Ilayasu and Labisca were the ones involved in the discussion.
He added that about 113 victims of kidnapping were rescued during the period.
Adejobi also said about 306 firearms and 3,944 ammunition were recovered across the country.
