NDDC scandal: House of Reps Committee summon Akpabio as Joi Nunieh opens ‘can of worms’
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio has been summoned to appear before the House Committee investigating alleged misappropriation of funds in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The Minister was asked to appear before the Committee on Monday.
The decision of the House followed damning revelations by the Ex-Managing Director of the NDDC, Ms Joi Nunieh on how Akpabio uses the current Interim Management Committee (IMC) to rip off the agency of funds.
Nunieh who participated in the investigative Committee of the House via Zoom to stunned the audience on how the IMC spends funds without due process.
Earlier, Nunieh was to appear on Thursday, but had her house in Portharcourt besieged by security operatives on orders of Godswill Akpabio untill she was rescued by Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike.
CAPITAL POST earlier reports that the House Committee had earlier claimed that it uncovered a misappropriation of N81.5 billion by the Prof. Pondei led management between February to May, 2020.
