Following the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings scheduled to hold next week, the National Working Committee (NWC) and members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGD) will be meeting later today (Tuesday).

The meeting is scheduled to hold by 1pm at the Party Headquarters, Abuja.

As at the time of filing this report, the official agenda of the meeting was not made available but a source within the administrative organ of the party said the meeting was a deft move by the leadership of the NWC to get the buying-in of the governors elected under the platform of the party of the agenda for the planned Caucus and NEC meetings slated for 10 and 11 July respectively.

It was also gathered that the meeting is aimed at getting members of the PGF, a critical organ of the party to endorse yet to be approved audit report submitted to the NWC by an external audit firm engaged by Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led NWC.

At the last NWC meeting, the approval of the audit report suffered a hitch when it was presented, as members of the committee demanded that the Secretariat ought to have provided them with copies of the report before the meeting to enable proper deliberation on the report before it’s approval for presentation at the NEC meeting.

The NWC is required by the APC Constitution to present the party’s audit report to the highest decision-making organ (NEC) of the party at its meeting.

CAPITAL POST also learnt that the meeting may look into the intra-leadership crisis within the NWC, especially the festering cold war between the party’s National Vice Chairman (North West), Salihu Lukman, the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore over allegations of breaching constitutional provisions by the latter.
