The Neo-nationalist of my time!

Published

on

Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi [1951 - 2023]
Spread the love

If tributes could raise the dead
Raymond would still be with us
If kind words could pinch the corpse

Anthony would have been hale, hearty and breathing,
For Nigerians in millions and multiples have profusely rendered the bestl and the highest.

And as his manners were
He would have been laughing and cracking jokes thus making light of grave issues in crackels.

If I ask you my countrymen?
Wasn’t he an enigma?
Wasn’t he a modern seer?
Wasn’t he a magical figure?
Wasn’t he phenomenal?

Certainly he was in many ways!
As a child with speech limitations
And later addressed the whole world fluently, then there are prodigious indicators.

Did you know that a modern ancient mariner navigated off the coast?

Trailblazing in diverse fonts and many fronts?
Leaving a beacon for lost voyagers

When Ray Power got broke in Lagos

He was courageous to share his anguish.

Surviving the pocket drought and employed thousands on resuscitation.

He was exemplary in many ways if you care:

Evidently stateless, tribe-less, anti-racial,

Bringing Africans together in foreign lands if you remember!

No doubt my countrymen
His dreams came through
His aspirations matured to the good of the majority. The first Chief of Staff in Gongola and Nigeria

Now he is gone
Yielding to the bane of mortals.
Yet not completely gone
His legacies ready for ayes
His disciples evident and and unyielding

Come rain and come shine

Adieu Raymond
Adieu Dokpesi
Good night the Ezomo of Wepona Wanno Kingdom!
Great son of Agenebode!
Exceptional personality of Nigeria!
