Delta APC tells Tinubu to rescue party from Omo-Agege’s stronghold
Leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta state on Monday appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to salvage the party from further extinction.
The group in a joint letter to the President, blamed the misfortune of the party at the last general election in the State to the party’s governorship flag bearer, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, whom they accused of anti-Party activities that led to the electoral failure of the party.
The letter which was signed by the factional State Secretary, Inana Michael, Delta North Chairman, Engr Tom Onah, Delta South Chairman, Nelson Ogharamadike, Delta Central Chairman, Sir Michael Oruaefe.
The party leaders said that all was not lost for the party in the state, if only President Tinubu will quickly intervene and call the former Deputy Senate President to order.
According to the leaders, “We cannot continue this way in Delta, we therefore call on you to ask Omo-Agege to free the State APC of his stronghold on its neck so it can breathe freely.”
Recalling the cause of the poor performance of the party in the state during the last election, the party leaders argued that “due to the fact that Omo-Agege did not allow a free and fair process, many Party members left to contest in other parties to pursue their political ambitions, like Chief Great Ogboru. This development gave the Party a heavy blow during the general elections.”
