Hon. Kemi Nshe takes over Shendam LGC as Transition Committee Chairman
The newly appointed Interim transition committee Chairman of Shendam Local Government, Hon. Nicholas Kemi Nshe on Wednesday assumed office in Shendam.
It would be recalled that recently the Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Mutfwang had sworn in Interim Transition Committee chairmen for the 17 Local Government Areas following the suspension of the elected chairmen on financial allegations.
While assuming office on Wednesday in Shendam, supporters of the suspended Chairman, Hon. Alex Nantuam, mostly APC loyalists had tried to prevent the Interim Chairman from entering the office, but it wasn’t possible due to security presence and also mass supporters of the PDP on the ground.
One of the Director at the Local Government, Mr Emmanuel Samson Ugoh, who represented the Director of Personnel Management DPM handed over documents and affairs of the Local Government to Hon. Nshe
While addressing journalists in his office, shortly after taken the oath of office, he promised that his administration will reunite the people of Shendam to live as a family.
According to him, the APC administration could not maintain the over 400 boreholes he had sank when he was Council Chairman.
Hon. Nshe who is returning as Chairman for the 4th time noted with sadness that Shendam people are currently buying portable water due to a lack of maintenance of the existing borehole his administration sank.
The Council Chairman was earlier received on his way into Shendam town by hundreds of PDP supporters, singing solidarity songs, he appreciated the reception given to him.
