Magu’s arrest: Kanu vindicated, ‘laughs loud’ – IPOB
The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) said, their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been vindicated over arrest of the acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
IPOB believes that President Buhari’s anti-corruption fight was a mere pretense, saying that his administration cannot salvage Nigeria.
IPOB’s Secretary, Emma Powerful in a statement on Sunday which was made available to journalists explained that a particular section of the country sees Nigeria’s oil field handed over to them by the Colonial masters in 1960.
The statement said, the arrest, detention and subsequent suspension of Magu was envisaged and is a development that ‘Kanu is now laughing aloud.’
The group said EFCC, an agency of government, was established by President Olusegun Obasanjo, but has been turned into a private estate of the northerners.
“We, the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, wish to state categorically to all Nigerians that this country cannot be redeemed by the people who see the Nigerian State as their permanent oil field and private estate assigned to them by the British government in 1960.
The statement recalled how Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been insisting on the need to actualise the State of Biafra, as the current structure of the Nigeria State remains largely unworkable.
“If Nigerians continue to allow only the North control the country, they must be prepared to welcome the ‘sunami’ that has been designed to befall Nigeria.
The group insisted that cabals exist within the government that are doing damages to the country, especially the looting of the nation’s treasury.
